Darrell Lance Abbott (Dallas, 20 agosto 1966 -- Columbus, 8 dicembre 2004) è stato un chitarrista statunitense. Meglio conosciuto con i soprannomi Dimebag Darrell e Diamond Darrell (quest'ultimo usato solo nell'età giovanile) fu il co-fondatore, chitarrista e compositore, assieme al fratello batterista Vinnie Paul, della band thrash metal Pantera. È ritenuto da molti come uno dei migliori musicisti e maggiori innovatori della storia del metal ed è stato inserito, dai lettori della rivista americana Guitar World, alla posizione #7 della classifica Guitar World's Top 100 Metal Guitarist - Top Metal Guitarist Of All Time. Morì assassinato durante un concerto l'8 dicembre 2004. Di lui si ricorda la passione e l'impegno che profuse in campo musicale, oltre che la massima attenzione che ebbe nei confronti dei fans nell'arco dell'intera carriera. Egli infatti non si presentò mai arrogante verso i suoi sostenitori ma, anzi, si dice che non si rifiutasse mai di fornire loro utili suggerimenti o affrontare lunghe discussioni rimanendo, nonostante la sua notevole fama, sempre al loro livello e con i piedi per terra.
