Selena: *Walks up to Dallas* How is she? Dallas: I'll tell you when I return. DEMI'S HOSPITAL ROOM -- Dallas and Demi Dallas: *Walks in, nervous* Will she be able to hear me? Doctor: Probably not. I'll leave you alone. *Leaves* Dallas: *Walks over to Demi and sits on her bed* Hey *Strokes Demi's hair* I don't know if you can hear me *pauses* but I'd like to say I'm sorry. I guess I thought you could handle yourself on your own. As for our dad, he needs help. I know you don't like to talk about him. He's not doing so well and he really wants to see you. He speaks about you all the time. *tears up* He is so proud of you. *pauses* It's kind of ironic. The only time we have a calm conversation is when one of us is unconscious. *Gets up and kisses Demi's forehead* Get better. *Goes back to the waiting room* Selena:* Standing* How is she? Dallas: She's in a coma. Apparently, she has a drug in her system. Nick: *Finally speaks up* When will she wake up? Dallas: Not sure. Selena: What drug? Dallas: The doctor didn't tell me. Morning HOSPITAL -- Kevin and Dallas Kevin: You want some coffee? I noticed you stayed up all night. Dallas: Yeah, coffee would be good. *Both walk to the coffee machines.* Kevin: She'll be okay. Dallas: Why are you so sure? Kevin: Someone has to be optimistic. Dallas: I just can't believe this happened. It's only been two weeks and I'm already messing up. Kevin: She's a kid. She likes to go to parties. Dallas: I know, but I should have been more strict *starts crying* Kevin: *Hugs Dallas* It's okay *tries to comfort her* Cody: *Walks up to Dallas* How is Demi? Dallas: It's all in the dark right now. Doctor: Demi is awake. Dallas: Can I see her? Doctor: She wants to see Cody. Is he here? Cody: That's me. *Follows the doctor* DEMI'S HOSPITAL ROOM -- Demi and Cody Cody: Hey, Dem. How do you feel? Demi: Better than yesterday. Cody: *Sits beside Demi on the bed* I have a confession to make. Demi: What? Cody: Miley said we would perform a song together if I dated you and then broke you heart. Demi: What?! Cody: This morning, I told her that our deal is over. Demi: I want to see my sister. Cody: Tell me what you're thinking. Demi: I want to see Dallas. Cody: *Leaves* WAITING ROOM Cody: Dallas, she wants to see you. Dallas: Really? *hurries to Demi's room* Selena: How is she? Cody: I don't know. Better. *pauses* I need to go. Selena: *Pulls Cody to the side* I know it was Miley. I got some pictures Miley won't want to get out. It's too bad that I posted them online. Cody: What pictures? Selena: Just Miley making out with complete strangers. So typical. Cody: Good. Meanwhile DEMI'S HOSPITAL ROOM -- Dallas and Demi Dallas: You wanted to see me? Demi: Yes. Being in the hospital got me thinking *pauses* Dallas: What? Demi: How is dad? Dallas: Last night I was talking to you. I guess you couldn't hear me. Demi: *Confused* About what? Dallas: Our dad. He's really proud of you. What you're achieving. And he wants to see you. Demi: How is he healthwise? Dallas: It's stable, but we never know. Demi: How did things get so complicated with us? Dallas: I don't know. *pauses* Why do you think dad abandoned you? Demi: As you know, dad and I used to be close. Dallas: Yeah, practically inseparable. Demi: I know why he didn't visit, but why did he have to move in the first place? Dallas: There's a doctor in New Mexico. She promised our dad that she would help him. Demi: What? He never told me! Dallas: I know. I think he was afraid to jinx it. Demi: Did she help him? Dallas: Not yet.

Just two more weeks Demi: Are you sure you don't want to visit? Selena: Sorry, can't Demi: Fine.. I have to go, bye Selena: Bye ON THE SET - Demi and Joe Joe: Hey, Demi Demi: Hi Joe: So, would you like to hang out tonight? *Selena walks in behind Joe* Demi: Oh my gosh, Selena! *Hug* Selena: Hi, I totally surprised you Demi: Yeah Selena: Hi, Joe Joe: Hey, Sel Demi: You can put your stuff in my cabin *they walk off* DEMI'S CABIN - Demi and Selena Selena: What were you talking about with Joe? Demi: He wanted to hang out tonight. Selena: He sooooooooo likes you Demi: He does not! Selena: Anyway, did you tell Nick how you feel Demi: No.. he's back together with Miley Selena: Since when? Anyway, you'll see it tonight. *Hangs up before Demi can say anything.* Demi: Okay *A little worriedly* SELENA'S HOUSE - Selena and Demi *Doorbell rings* Selena: *Opens the door* Hey, you're here! *Hugs Demi* Demi: Yeah. You look different. Selena: You look like a rockstar. Demi: Thanks! Did you know my parents bought a new house? Selena: Yea, it's awesome and it's only like 2 minutes from here. Demi: Really? Selena: Let's walk. Sometime later Demi: No way, Sel! Selena: Yeah, I figured you'd take it badly. Demi: This cannot be my new house! Is this a really bad joke? Selena: It's no joke. My parents have something to tell me. Selena: How do you figure. Demi: They're trying to soften me up before they tell me some news. That Evening DEMI'S HOUSE - Demi and her parents Mom: Sweetie, we wanted to talk to you about something Demi: Am I in trouble? Mom: No, why? Demi: What else could it be? Dad: Honey, your mom and I... *interrupted* Demi: Wait, you're not having a baby are you? Mom: No! Not anytime soon. Demi: *relieved* Good. Then what is it? Dad: We're going on vacation. Demi: That's great! I'll go pack. *excited* Mom: Sweetie, you're not coming. Demi: What?! Mom: Your sister, Dallas, will come to live with you while we're away. Demi: Why? I haven't seen her in like 2 years. Mom: We know. Demi: How are we going to survive? What are we going to do for food? Dallas is a terrible cook! *asks a few more questions before her mom interrupts her* Mom: Don't worry. Your step dad and I will only be gone for a month. You can get take-out everyday. Demi: Fine! *disappointed that she's not going too* Mom: Just try not to kill each other while we're gone. Demi: Ok *leaves and goes to her room*
